Creating a Secure Password - Hints and Tips
New Password Phrase Example 1. Choose a Base Phrase: Start with a memorable phrase or a combination of words. For example, “BrightSky”. 2. Add Complexity: Uppercase Letter: Ensure at least one letter is uppercase. In our example, “B” is already uppercase. Lowercase Letter: Ensure at least one letter is lowercase. In our example, “BrightSky” contains lowercase letters. Symbol: Add a symbol to the end of the phrase. For example, “BrightSky!”. Number: Add a number to the end of the phrase. For example, “12BrightSkys^_^”. 3. Adjust Length: Ensure the total length is a minimum of 12 characters. If the phrase is too long, consider abbreviating or removing some characters. If it’s too short, add more characters or symbols. Example: “Br1ghtSky#!3” (12 characters, includes uppercase, lowercase, symbol, and number). 4. Requirements: Double-check that the password phrase meets all the criteria: 12 characters: ✔️ 1 lowercase letter: ✔️ 1 uppercase letter: ✔️ 1 symbol: ✔️ 1 number: ✔️ 5. Tips: Avoid using easily guessable information such as birthdays, names, or common words. You are prevented from using Junction related words – this will not be allowed when creating a password. E.g. “Junction”, “Thrive”
